"After Sushmita and Aishwarya, every parent threw out
the purdah ."

There was a time, not too far ago, when beauty seemed captive
to Mumbai. The city looked like the only assembly line in the country that churned out
beauteous models of the biped variety. Then, along came a man from Bangalore called Prasad
Bidapa who decided to look for home-grown beauties in his own town. And did he find them!
On the street, in a pub, inside a college canteen, on a motorcycle, in his own office --
every time he turned, there seemed to be a hint of beauty. But to turn them all into Miss
Indias, that was a challenge. And it became his passion. Very soon, Bangalore had its own
Professor Higgins with a seemingly endless list of stunning, long-legged beauties that
included two Miss Indias, one Miss World finalist and one Ford Supermodel. We hear that
Kanpur wants him next. |
