Lucky Akki
Will he be fourth-time lucky? Akshay Kumar may be having a tough time on the work front, but back in the romance department, things are still happening.Akshay Kumar Remember his much-talked- of affairs with Pooja Batra, Raveena Tandon and Shilpa Shetty? Remember the much-written-about broken engagements? Now the buzz is that the wanderer is settling down with International Khiladi co-star Twinkle Khanna. Friends say there's even a wedding date: November 29. But Akki insists, "I'm not getting married in the near future. I am concentrating on my career right now," adding, "I believe that luck doubles when you get married." Reason enough to do it.

Back to the Past
It's been 17 years in the making. Aag ka Daria, a film launched in Dilip Kumar with Rekha1983, has been completed this year. The Dilip Kumar-Rekha starrer has just unwound itself from a financial and legal tangle, some scenes have been re-shot, and it's ready for release. Dilip Kumar plays an honest air force officer in the film and Rekha (who happens to be young enough to be his daughter) is his wife. Says producer R. Venkatraman: "Dilipsaab stood by us as a rock all these years. He is a real-life hero." That he is.

It Only Takes Three Minutes
It's not a feature film. But it's still a big deal. South Indian movie star-dancer Shobhana has starred in a three-minute documentary on governance and infotech that was put together in a record 24 hours by JS Films, a Chennai-based ad-filmShobhana company. And though three minutes is not much, her task was: she had to interpret tech-talk, special effects and graphics through Bharatnatyam for an audience that comprised none other than Bill Clinton, on his visit to Hyderabad. Bill was impressed. Says Shobhana: "They wanted someone who choreographed her own stuff and mixed an old classical style with ideas that were in." She did it.

For the Good Times
Fleur Xavier is having the best of both worlds. The pretty 23-year-old, a leggy presence on the country's ramps, is also on Fleur Xaviera roll in print and TV ads. When she's not walking the catwalk for the likes of Hemant Trevedi, Rohit Bal, Wendell Rodricks and Suneet Varma, you can spot her endorsing soft drinks, talcum powder, TVs, soaps and cars. "I'm grateful to God for all this," she says. "Right now the going's good but I keep wondering how long it will last. After all, good things often don't go on forever." Unlike those long legs.
