Last week, a letter from Pooja Bedi Ebrahim to Amitabh Bachchan was leaked to the press, attacking Bachchan forPooja Bedi Ebrahim reportedly pressuring the channel to pull out an interview that she did with him for The Amul India Show. The letter claims he was "grumpy, defensive, relatively inarticulate and possessed virtually no joie de vivre" during the Q&A, then expands Big B to "Big Bully" and "Big Baby". Star, however, insisted the interview was shelved because it was not "up to the mark". As for the Big B, he was unavailable for comment. Now shall we give this Battle a Big Break?

Beat this Feat
Some kids stay up late to study. This boy stays up late to play Arjun Vishnuvardhanchess. He's not doing it for sport. Arjun Vishnuvardhan, 9, became the youngest Indian to be eligible for a fide (International Chess Federation) rating when he defeated a 38-year-old state coach in a recent fide-rated tournament in Kochi. Arjun replaced Rajasthan's Abhijit Gupta who made the grade at the age of 10. Now his long-term goal is "to coach my one-year-old brother to become the world's youngest grandmaster". Gosh, they start young these days.

Family Matters
Karan Johar, Aditya Chopra, watch out. Farhan Akhtar has a good thing going. The latest star son to debut as director (with Farhan AkhtarDil Chahta Hai) has Javed Akhtar doing his script, and a cast that includes Aamir Khan and Dimple Kapadia. The lineage helps: Farhan is the son of Javedsaab and child superstar turned scriptwriter Honey Irani. "Some people want to be pilots when they grow up, some astronauts, I always wanted to be in the movies," says the 27-year-old. "There is a magic in creating movies. To create a special magic is the greatest challenge to me." And if the surname casts a spell, good for him.

DIRECT DIL SE
Forget Lara dutta and Yukta mookhey. check out this "woman of substance". Manisha Koirala, star of Saudagar, Dil Se and other flicks, will represent India at a UNFPA seminar in Geneva next month. Koirala, better known for looking ethereal in 1942 -- AManisha Koirala Love Story, will be presenting a paper on population control there. Wanna sample the beautiful lady's views? "The numbers game is a serious issue and not to be taken lightly as we're likely to catch up with China and earn what is certainly a dubious distinction. Creating awareness about social concerns is a part of my life ..." That's coming direct dil se.
