INDIA'S OFFENSIVE

Phase 1: Indian artillery guns launch a fire assault lasting 48 hours, targeting Pakistani Army bunkers, key installations and communication lines in the PoK with laser-guided shells in the Poonch-Rajouri sector.

Phase 2: Indian Air Force ground attack fighters join the degradation battle by crossing the LoC and destroying enemy positions in the PoK, preferably at dawn. The Indian Air Force gets control of the skies by engaging the Pakistani Air Force but does not bomb enemy air bases.

Phase 3: Indian infantry troops cross the LoC and attack Pakistani troops after cutting off their supply lines.

Phase 4: The Indian Army occupies 10 sq km area in slices of territory along the Uri-Rajouri axis and gains dominance of the numerous terrorist infiltration routes on the LoC.

PAKISTAN'S COUNTER

# Pakistani artillery and air force stand up to the offensive and stall the Indian troop advance by inflicting heavy casualties.

# Its troops launch a counter offensive on the LoC by opening up new fronts in Kargil and Kupwara sectors to force India to go on the defensive.

# Pakistan's Army Reserve North attacks through the Akhnoor area in a bid to severe the Pathankot-Jammu road and disrupt communication lines.

# Launches a full-scale war against India by opening other fronts on the international border.
