Universal Appeal

You may not remember her name. But you will know her by her pelvic gyrations. Mumait Khan, 19, the Jimmy Shergill straddler in the Dekh Le number in Munnabhai MBBS, is turning raunchiness into an art form in the remix music video Mere Piya Gaye Rangoon. So impressed is Universal Music with Khan's moves that it has suggested to Enrique Iglesias that he take her in his music video. Mumait has already got her chin, eyebrows and the navel pierced to get an international look. An acting career next? "I don't like acting," says the girl who rose from humble origins as a background dancer. "It is too fake. I'm a dancer." We'll see about that.

Power Picture

Everybody wants to be on a power-list. But when the list is being shot by Lord Snowdon, official British royal photographer and former husband of the late Princess Margaret, there is more reason to be on it. Wheelchair-ridden Snowdon, 74, who has shot the entire starry gamut from Jude Law to the late Princess Diana, was in town shooting Delhi's high and mighty for a project on India's 150 most distinguished people. Who's in? That is the question on the cocktail circuit.

Pranab Mukherjee's son Indrajit Mukherjee kicked off the Congress babies' baraats. After his wedding to Sugandhi last week, Kapil Sibal's son Amit and Kamal Nath's son Nakul are next in line.
