Agent Love

When she yells "cut" next, it will be on a TV show. Sexy, spirited and a mean hairstylist to stars like Bipasha Basu and Sameera Reddy, Sapna Malhotra is now set to be launched as a Channel V veejay. The countless tattoos down her back and a new funky hairdo every month should help her in her new job as the host of a weekly show called Agent Love. "I will be taking to the streets, randomly giving a snazzy makeover to people and setting them up on dates," says Malhotra. Hope she is scissor-sharp with her wit too.

New Role

Now that Nagma's film career is not exactly sky-rocketing, it seems she is looking for a larger role in politics. The actor, once linked to Sourav Ganguly, showed up at the Congress party headquarters in Delhi this week to meet AICC General Secretary Ambika Soni, prior to a meeting with Sonia Gandhi. Decorously draped in a silk sari, her first salvo took journos assembled off guard: "Do you want to look at me or talk to me?" Er ... does she really want to know?

Casting a Spell

Most adults would not even know what troglodyte means, let alone spell it right. But Gayatri Kumar, 13, got it right, along with words like disequilibrium and Chihuahua to win the Hard Spell competition on BBC1. More than a lakh determined spellers took part in school competitions from across the UK. Kumar, who began crying when she won, said, ''I didn't expect to get this far.'' We are spell-bound.

Water Babe

Nisha Millet is back in the running, or should we say, swimming. A benign tumour had put her out of action for nearly two years. Helped by Andrew Leipus, former physio for the Indian cricket team, Millet put her depression and the 10 kg she gained behind her. She has just returned from the Indianapolis championships and has her mind set on the next Olympics. A water baby all right.
