Kiss Contest

Setting new records in Bollywood's snog marathon is Payal Rohatgi. Press releases for her next film Laila-A Mystery tom-tom it as the movie where "she breaks Mallika Sherawat's record ... She has given 32 smooches, well ahead of Mallika's 17 in Khwahish." Says Rohatgi of the pr spin: "I have a few intimate scenes but they are nowhere close to 32 kisses." Audiences can keep count.

The Lucky One

Salman Khan with Aishwarya Rai in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam? Nope, it's Sneha Ullal in Lucky. The buzz is that since Khan can't have the original, he got himself the Ash lookalike, a classmate of his sister Arpita, to star opposite him. "Give the girl a break," says Vinay Sapru, who co-directed the film with Radhika Roy. "She's only 18 and does not look anything like Ash." Really?

Perfect Hostess

In a logical sequel to her play The Perfect Husband, Poonam Dhillon is set to play the perfect hostess. In a different medium. After the former filmstar and recent BJP recruit returns from The Perfect Husband's world tour, plans are afoot for a TV talk show. Another celeb chat show? "They can't do it like I can," says Dhillon of competitors. Possible titles range from inspired alliterations like "Paneer with Poonam" to the more wholesome "Lassi with Poonam". The actor's favourite, though, is "Love Talk with Poonam Dhillon" as relationships and "personal lives" will be the key. How about Noorie's Newsmakers?

King of Comedy

Getting seriously funny at a very early age is Rajkot-based Jay Channiyara. He beat 700-odd participants in a nationwide Koi Bhi Aao Hasake Dikhao contest at the recent Marshall Comedy Awards. Channiyara, 10, won Rs 50,000 and an all-expenses-paid trip to Hollywood. Here's another remarkable thing about him. This little comedian, who has performed in over 100 shows in Gujarat, has not let spastic paralysis cramp his funny bone.
