Curves Ahead

You thought the man behind Bipasha Basu's weight loss was an encouraging boyfriend, right? Apparently it was Boney Kapoor. The Bengali bombshell was chased for six months by the producer to perform in his film No Entry. But Basu, who had refused sizzlers such as Babuji zara dheere chalo, was hesitant. Coyness was not the issue, cellulite was. "I'm thankful to Boney for being so persistent. Once I agreed to do the film, I knew I had to shape up," she says. No Entry has Basu playing a bar dancer. A new high, should we say?

Peacock Preen

If the hubby is a fashion patron, the wife can be a muse. While Gautam Singhania is a fashion-backer with his store Be:, Nawaz Modi Singhania also gets into the act. She stars in the print campaign for designers Falguni and Shane Peacock. "She is media shy and for her to endorse us is a big deal," says Falguni. No, this label doesn't stock at Be:.

Extra Cover

After Yuvraj Singh, here's the latest delivery from Kim Sharma. The semi-clad starlet, known more last year for an alleged association with the cricketer than her roles, is changing her game. Leaving the itsy-bitsy clothes behind, she plays princess Ladli Begum in Akbar Khan's Taj Mahal. "I have been seen as a sexy siren. I now look forward to films where I am the girl-next-door, not a femme fatale," says Sharma. Is this a googly?

Item Recall

Can you top Bollywood's famous train sequence? Seven years after Chhaiyya chhaiyya, Shah Rukh Khan and Malaika Arora Khan try to recreate the magic in the item number Kaal dhamaal. An out-and-out disco song, it is the opening ensemble for Kaal and shot James Bond-style. Shah Rukh displays tattoos and delicious biceps and Malaika her ballet moves. Says Malaika: "Nothing can beat dancing atop a train but this song is more hip and very hot." And yes, get set for serious navel-gazing once again.
