Role Call

At 5 ft 10 inches, she's set to give Bollywood heroes an inferiority complex. Canadian model Saira Mohan, Newsweek's Perfect Face for 2003, plays a seductress in Karan Johar's Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna. Acting tips from Shah Rukh Khan, seduction sequences with Abhishek Bachchan and an admirer in Rani Mukherji, sounds like a dream debut. Cakewalk for the ramp walker, did you say?

Fair Play

Move over Mandira Bedi, here come Anjum Chopra (right) and Mayanti Langer. Test player Chopra is DD's shift from the noodle-strap brigade who presents Fourth Umpire and Langer, a 20-year-old football fan, is the anchor of Zee Sports football coverage. Men surely aren't complaining.

Noteworthy

When Bollywood music composer Sandesh Shandilya says that Mother Teresa has changed his life, we know what he is talking about. He has recently composed music for docudrama Beatification of Mother Teresa, starring Penelope Cruz. "It was a great experience," says Shandilya of the time he spent at Mother House in Kolkata. Another feather in his cap is the inclusion of the title track composed by him for the film Uuf Kya Jadoo Mohabbat Hai..! in pianist Richard Clayderman's latest album. He is creating ripples in the music world.

Bumpy Ride

Lean, mean machines attract film stars and business tycoons like honey does bees. This time they have also attracted the attention of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, which has reportedly seized 45 imported cars that had evaded import duty. Following last week's seizure of actor Suniel Shetty's white Hummer, Sanjay Dutt's manager surrendered the star's silver Porsche Cayenne. There is no duty-free haven for heavy-duty stars.
