| INDIA TODAY | CURRENT ISSUE DECEMBER 19, 2005 | | | | EYECATCHERS | | | | | Item Czech The latest Bollywood item number is certainly exotic. Czech dancer Hanah gets groovy with none other than Arjun Rampal in Apoorva Lakhia's Ek Ajnabee. Says Lakhia, who spotted Hanah at a fashion show: "She fit the look I wanted and surprisingly she knew all the moves." Whether she will be Negar Khan's replacement only time will tell. | | | | Kiss and Tale Neal 'N' Nikki is creating a buzz. And more than Tanishaa's fabulously toned body, it is about the onscreen kisses between Uday Chopra and her. "I was kissing someone I've known for 10 years, so the comfort level was there," she says. Will this translate into sizzling chemistry between the two? This spunky actor won't kiss and tell. | | | | On the Ball Twelve-year-old Garry Amor Singh of Chandigarh has reason to be on cloud nine. He will represent India at the Australian Open Tennis Grand Slam next month-but as a ball boy. Selected from the 300-odd contestants, Singh, himself a tennis player groomed at the Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association, is looking forward to be in the thick of things. "It is an opportunity to see the big stars up close," says the Class VII student, adding coyly, "But my dream is to be one." Clearly, Chandigarh's own Garry Putter is having a ball. | | | | Quit Comeback After a four-year-long hiatus, Renuka Shahane is making a comeback to films. She will be seen in Saurabh Sengupta's Marham, where she plays a social worker who brings solace to earthquake victims. The actor, who shot to fame with her role in Hum Aapke Hain Koun! is also scripting a film which she will eventually direct. "It is a sensitive film on trust in relationships," she says, hoping to direct husband Ashutosh Rana and Tabu in the film. "Writing is a stepping stone to direction where a director can share her feelings with the viewers," she says. So why hold back? -Compiled by Kimi Dangor Index | | |
