After her pop career went flat, Manchanda lent her husky voice to several film songs but for the first time ever she will be writing a song for a Hindi film. "It's a slow, dark song, something you can make love to," says the singer who has composed the music and lyrics and will be singing it as well. Hmm. Hope she's not the only one listening to it. | | | | Advantage Jassi She's used to being the underdog. And also to winning. So it was no surprise that Mona Singh, of Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin, won Sony's reality dance show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. The actor made no bones about her co-finalist Shweta Salve being the better dancer, but says people voted for her because of the "sympathy factor". Singh, who lost 9 kg during the show, is on her way to becoming a Sony kudi. | | | | Two at 34 The first thing Sourav Ganguly noticed about Karan Johar was his grey hair. The former captain couldn't believe Johar was 34. The director was in Kolkata to receive an award, where he met Ganguly and struck a conversation about movies and cricket. Says Johar, "What do we have in common apart from being 34? He's captain of his ship and so am I." But while Ganguly's ship is sinking, Johar's is sailing. It's an unequal world. | | | | Second Adventure She played a firebrand in films like Page 3 and Waisa Bhi Hota Hai. But now after a gap of five years, Sandhya Mridul is back at where she started. The actor is hosting an adventure show on SABe TV called Paisa Bhari Padega. "It's not like I'm going back to television. I found the concept of this show very interesting, so I did it," says Mridul, who shot for the first six episodes with celebrity participants. From playing a cop to roughing it out in the wild, she surely is on an adventure trip. Index | | INDIA TODAY |
