Face Value

Former Miss Romania Julia Verdes grew up watching Raj Kapoor movies back home. Now this beauty is all set to make her Bollywood debut. Though she’s unwilling to reveal movie details yet, Verdes has already bagged campaigns for Ponds, Maruti and Tanishq and walked the ramp at the Lakme Fashion Week. Having worked in 24 countries, looks like Verdes, who is now learning Hindi, is all set to give Indian beauties a run for their money.
Reality Bites

You might remember her as being part of the now obsolete girl band Viva. Neha Bhasin, who went through the rigours of a reality talent search, will now be revisiting her past. Says the glamorous host of the behind-the-scenes reality segment Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Hungama on Zee Music, “It does feel good when I realise that I’m on the other side now.” The 24-year-old offers a word of advice: “Constant learning, hard work and patience are very important.” Wise words indeed.

PRIME TIME AGAIN

She made an impact as the red-haired, rebellious Anvesha in Remix and now Priya Wal is back with her next big TV role in Sony’s Jeete Hai Jiske Liye. “This show gave me an opportunity to work with veteran actors,” says the 25-year-old, who plays Renuka Shahane’s daughter Ayesha. The new stint has come after a long sabbatical. “I can’t do roles in saas-bahu serials that I can’t relate to,” says Wal. Now back on prime-time television with a bang, this girl promises to pack quite a punch.

ALL GROWN UP

From child actor to chic debutante—Himesh Reshammiya’s newest discovery and well-kept secret is out. The young actor Riaa, making her debut in Aap Ka Surroor—The Moviee, is none other than Hansika Motwani, child star of films like Koi Mil Gaya and Jaago. “We wanted to make sure the female lead was a fresh face,” says the proud mentor. Having dabbled in Telugu films, Motwani will play love interest to a much older Reshammiya. Another Nishabd in the making? Wait and watch, says the singer.
